Last week I went on a super fun, quick trip up to Washington to visit my beloved Grandpa. I had hoped I would get to see him while I was pregnant but I wasn’t sure when we would have the time, so when my dad told me he was going I made sure to make it work! I just feel like this is such a special time. Our little boy is here (even if he’s not quite here yet) and it is a totally new and exciting time for me, so I am so glad I was able to share this time with him and my family. Unfortunately, because it was so last minute Blake and my mom both couldn’t make it!

While we were there, we packed so much fun in! We did a few hikes and they were all so beautiful! The Seattle area is gorgeous and I love how green and overgrown it is! It also helps that it was the prettiest weather I’ve ever seen there but when I got off the plane, I realized I was dressed ALL wrong.. it was almost 85 degrees there and I was in a big, heavy sweater!! Since when does it get that warm in Seattle, ha. Every day was beautiful blue skies, so we made the most of it and took in all of the great views around Port Angeles. I think my favorite was Hurricane Ridge, which is only a few miles from my grandpas house, but I had never been before. I forgot my other camera lens so I couldn’t quite capture how big and incredible the view was, but if you’re ever in the area, it is definitely worth the stop! Especially with the clear skies, your eyes couldn’t even take in the whole scene from one side to the other! I love that feeling realizing how big our world is. The rest of our time there we spent chatting on the porch or at the dinner table, covered in delicious food. A love of good food and of cooking runs in the family, so preparing dinner was always a group affair, with everyone helping, then a long dinner filled with stories and laughing.

I hope you all have a great weekend
